Imogen
A downloadable game
Imogen is an experimental narrative on divorced parents’ grief after the loss of their daughter. Experience Sophie and Jamie’s internal turmoil through the lens of fleeting moments, both past and present. In a story that captures the ebb and flow of human connection through hand-crafted images and subtle, expressive controls, one question lingers throughout: as we mourn, can we find the resolve to find solace in ourselves, and in others?
MEMORIES IN IMAGES
Made up of over 100+ hand-drawn images, Imogen relies on abstract line art, color-based characterization, and dynamic sound effects to convey a deeply tragic story told without any dialogue.
SUBTLE, EXPRESSIVE CONTROLS
As players piece together the past and present of Imogen, they will be prompted to complete small actions on behalf of either character. Jamie's rotational action and Sophie's vertical action are not only used to distinguish their characters, but also how they've learned to process their pain and isolation.
CAPTURE THE MOMENT
Imogen is a deeply human story. We don't know which moment with someone will be our last, or what object will remind us of a distant memory. Utilizing techniques and styles from film, certain scenes ask players to take a step away from the story and reflect on the connections we make with one another. What are we left with when memories fade away?
